Recently in the news you might have heard of various news stories of personal data being stolen and more commonly lost! Most of these stories are based around the government and public sector. So right despite the recession and downturn, there is a huge demand for data protection jobs. As mentioned earlier it’s more common to find data protection jobs in the public sector, but finding one isn’t as easy as I’m portraying it to be.
Finding Data Protection Jobs
First you need a quality written CV before you do anything. Secondly you need to get into the mentality of being a trusted and highly cautious individual. In a data protection job you are given the task to simply protect data, sounds simple? Well, in fact it’s not. A data protection officer must expose risks, vulnerability and be held responsible when data is lost, stolen or misplaced. With the recent attack on Monsters recruitment website, hackers stole 60 million peoples personal data.
I’m sure the data protection officers at Monster were immediately sacked! The bigger the company you work for, the more the risk there is. Risks and responsibilities come with every job, but being a data protection officer the words responsibility is emphasized. To find a data protection job, just simply search online, there are many job sites and websites offering data protection job vacancies. You just need to know where to look when searching for data protection job vacancies.
