Another Day, Another Job Search

If you’ve been searching for a job for quite sometime now you will notice how everything can become repetitive, you will start noticing an almost groundhog day feeling. This is where you stop and take a break from it all! That’s right folks, take a break for one day and do no job search at all. Instead enjoy the weather and go sit your local park with a pen and paper. Why a pen and paper you might ask yourself. Well your going to do a bit of brainstorming, what I mean is your going to relax and just take notes. That’s right relax and start thinking creative about what you can do more. Jot it all down, every little idea.

Now I want you to write down all the things you would change whilst doing your normal job search. E.g. find a new job site, search for more specific job vacancies. Remember that you don’t have a job because your doing something wrong. This is the best way of thinking, that way you will get better and better at everything you do. Change your CV and re-posting it to job sites, learn a new skill and add that to it. Whatever you do, make it productive and you will definitely see the results. Job hunting doesn’t need to be a repetitive task nor a daily task, instead you should think smart and try different things. Did you know that 80% of professional city workers never actually walk into a recruitment agency, instead they talk to them over the phone and email. Don’t be part of that 80% and walk into a few of your local recruitment agencies and talk to them face to face.

It’s a proven fact that talking to someone face to face rather than over the phone, increasing self confidence and you never know you might pick up a thing or to as well. Job seekers should never be afraid to learn more, whatever your age you should still be a learner, after all life’s all about learning no? Also never put all your eggs in the same basket, that means you shouldn’t just apply for job vacancies using one source, instead use lot’s of different recruitment agencies and job sites.
