IT Jobs and Vacancies
IT Jobs and Vacancies in London
IT job vacancies in London are in high demand, especially for specialists and experts. One third of IT jobs in London are taken up by highly skilled professionals. I don’t mean the regular MCSE’s, MCSA or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professionals). I mean real IT specialists like Microsoft Exchange Server Architect. These sort of roles tend to pay up to 70k and this is what we call skilled workers. However the majority of IT job vacancies in London are helpdesk, support and technicians. These roles generally start at 15k to 25k, then you have more senior roles such as systems administrator, 2nd 3rd line support etc. These pay around 25k to 40k. After that you have even more senior roles such as 4th line, IT Manager, IT Director etc and these pay good, real good. But with the very senior roles comes lot’s of responsibilities.
Then you have specialist roles like Cisco Security Analyst, VMware Implementations Manager, IP Security Specialists and so on. Now, there is a high demand for these types of IT vacancies. You will normally find these sorts of IT jobs within big corporations and they give you very good benefits too, like private health care etc. However it can be difficult for the average IT guy to find a job vacancy. If your an all rounder then I would apply for IT manager jobs for small offices in London. If your a techie and love solving problems you might want to approach an IT Solutions company and show them you have a passion for IT.
Overall I would definitely recommend you to apply for job vacancies which you think are your strengths. There’s no point in applying for a SQL Database role when your strengths are Linux or a Exchange Server role when your strengths are SQL, you get the point. If your really struggling to find an IT job then I would highly recommend you to learn a new skill and become a specialist, master a software. I cannot emphasise the demand of IT specialist in London, trust me there’s lots of IT job vacancies!
